COVENTRY & WARWICKSHIRE ORGANISTS' ASSOCIATION
5th September - Our next meeting is a Social Afternoon/Evening, kindly arranged by our President Adrian Moore. There are two organs to visit in the afternoon, before we meet at 6 pm at The Old Fourpenny Shop in Warwick for a buffet.
The Schedule is as follows
3. 30 All Saints' Sherbourne. This is an 1868 and later Walker.
4. 30 St Mary Immaculate,, Warwick (a short walk from the pub)
The churches are both interesting in themselves. All Saints' is a sumptuous building by Gilbert-Scott with lots of marble, a memorial designed by Pugin and good quality glass. St Mary Immaculate was designed by Pugin's son and was where J R R Tolkein got married.
The Buffet will be lovely and at a cost of £14 per head. Please let Adrian know (adrian_intouch@yahoo.co.uk) as soon as possible if you are intending to visit the two churches and also take advantage of the buffet, as we need to let the Old Fourpenny know numbers as soon as possible.
